It doesn't take many steps past February to begin to ache for the stirrings of spring. Blooming flowers are the earliest sign and we have something to get you started. Today I'm introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for March 2021, Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar.
Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these lovely dies to create with.
Imagine kicking rocks as you walk down a sweet rural road, on one of the first days the weather hints that the seasons are starting to change. You pick wildflowers and rush home to put them into a jar of water to keep them perky for the days to come. This is the inspiration that struck Becca when she put together the flower and mason jar combination. It's so cute and sweet!!
This easy to assemble mason jar can contain anything, but today it holds layered flowers. This flat side look is just like a real bouquet. Glue them or layer them with foam tape to make a dramatic statement. The mason jar can be left solid or cut like a frame for a shaker card the stems are simply threaded through each lid to secure them for arrangement. If you're partial to flat cards, use the filigree band with two brads to hold your stems! This makes a lovely card front bouquet, complete with stems.
There are 16 dies included in the Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar
My Project Today using Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar
My first project is a jar full of flowers. When I saw this set the first time I knew I wanted to use watercolor paint. I'm not good at painting but I wanted to show water in the jar or the color of the jar. The jar's top is painted with Alchemy color (gold) from JD-091 Watercolors set by Jane Davenport. The flowers are painted in different colors from other sets.
My second project is a card where I glued two layers of a jar and put some flowers inside. I used pastels colors that suit the background. This time I took a "Dream Garden" paper.
Designer Tip: to make stems sturdy I die cut them twice and glued them together.
