Sweet Blooms Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate

The last Delicate Impressions Collection designed by Amazing Paper Grace contains Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. One of them is GLP-234 Sweet Blooms Border. I can say that this is my favourite. The flowers are amazing.

I foiled the border once on the left side, then I flip it and foiled again on the right side. This way I have covered my card. I used a Glimmer HotFoil Roll Gold and Glimmer Hot Foil System from Spellbinders.

Lovely Ladybug by Amazing Paper Grace

I'm really excited about the new collection Sweet Cardlets by Amazing Paper Grace.

This time I prepared a card with GLP-235 Lovely Ladybug Glimmer Hot Foil Plate. In this set, you can find a stunning background Pattern, ladybug glimmer plate with dies and 2 lovely sentiments.

I started by cutting 3 small squares from watercolour paper. I painted them with 3 different colours with JD-042 Watercolors Set Brights ArtEssentials by Jane Davenport. Then I foiled a background pattern with a gold foil on each of them. Using my scissors I cut off the excess of paper to show a beautiful pattern.
I made the frame using S5-399 Candlewick Rectangles. I connected two rectangles to make my frame a little higher.
In the end, I added stunning ladybugs from a white paper and foiled with a gold foil.

I foiled the sentiment "With Grateful Thanks" from GLP-219 Heart Felt Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set.

Introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Sweet Cardlets Collection

What's a Cardlet, pray tell?  A Cardlet is a small motif, complete with background, sentiment and character that combine to make small card or layers onto a larger card.  We're delighted to introduce you to the Sweet Cardlets Collection.

Becca Feeken sent over these lovely dies and watercolors for me to try.

Sweet Cardlets show up in a Glimmer format with a matching die.   They are metal plates that are used in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to transfer foil to paper through a combination of heat and pressure.  The Glimmer machine base is rolled through your die cut machine to deliver that pressure.  As long as you have a machine that can accommodate thick dies - like steel rule dies, you're all set.
A word to the wise, it is very addicting.  (Compatibility charts on the Spellbinders website)

The Inspiration behind Sweet Cardlets

We gotta fess up here.  There's no such word as cardlets, yep, Becca straight up made it up.  You have to agree though, it sounds really cute, right?  Well that was the inspiration behind sweet cardlets.  As you can imagine it has something to do with cards and moreover, little cards.

Always mindful of the budget, Becca wanted to create a collection where each set is all you need to make a little card.  Sweet Cardlets are small motifs with a 3" x 3" footprint.  Each has a background, a main character and several sentiments.

We found it the right size to fit on an A2 card and even to layer onto an A7 card.  In fact, the 3" background can be repeated for a long background or a larger background.  Dies cut out each main character and three sentiments with each set give you lots of options.

Each of our Creative Team members will show you their take on cards made with the Sweet Cardlets Collection.  Today we're all using Jane Davenport Watercolors in some technique to show off Sweet Cardlets.

My Projects For Today

Here is what the dies look like:

Today I created a card and cover for mini notes.

I started my card by painting flowers using watercolour paints by Jane Davenport. I have never tried that before but honestly, I love this type of background.

To create them I used colours: Fairytale, Ladybug, Mystic and Royal from  JD-042 Watercolors Set Brights ArtEssentials by Jane Davenport. Leaves are painted by Water Spirit colour from JD-091 Watercolors Set Glitz-Sea ArtEssentials by Jane Davenport

When I finished my flowers I started to add glimmer embellishments. I used a beautiful honeycomb Glimmer plate from GLP-237 Just Bee-cause Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die set and a GLF-032 Prism Glimmer Hot Foil. You can foil your paper first and then paint the background.
To foil my little bees I used a GLP-006 Pink and GLF-015 Skybright (light blue) Glimmer foil. I think that they suit great to my flowers' colours.

My second project, the mini notes cover. I've made it the same style. I've painted some delicate flowers and have added bees and honeycomb.

Designer Tip
Watercolour - If you want to have a beautiful watercolour effect make sure you use a watercolour paper. A proper paper doesn't work with this kind of paints.
Glimmer Hot Foil System - before every use put an ordinary thin paper on the surface of your Glimmer Machine and then put your plates. This helps to keep the surface flat and undamaged.
