Introducing Vintage Treasures Blog Hop

We are so tickled today to be introducing  Vintage Treasures. You'll find a collection chalked full of classics!!  As always, there is a rectangle, oval, square and circle that will work well with everything in your stash and are perfect for layering. Next are several embellishment sets.  As you hop through all the links in the blog hop, you'll see all the new dies and how we used them.

Inspiration for Vintage Treasures

There is a special place in our hearts for those things kept in a hope chest.  Other than a promise of the future, they symbolize things of value and keepsakes that bring back treasured memories.  I delved there to find memories, filigree jewelry and keepsakes of old.  From long-forgotten turn of the century jewelry to the edgings on an old tattered handkerchief, I love bringing the past into the present in a style that is ....well, timeless.  These things -- bejeweled lockets, a sweet tiara and vintage adornments from long ago -- provided the sweet inspiration and restoration of some lovely, lovely Vintage Treasures.

The physical dies in this collection have an extra measure of flexibility and function.  Most templates have an outer rim, and inlay and an inner rim that you can use for your sentiment.

My Project For Today:

I'm tickled to introduce an adorable set of dies S4-990 Bella Luce Oval Etched Dies Vintage Treasures by Becca Feeken.
I think that the oval frame is magnificent and so elegant. Marvellous outer rim makes the card luxuriant and exceptional.

I used gold and delicate pink papers as a background. An oval pattern I cut from a gold paper. In the middle, I put the smaller oval floral background and two layers of the outer rim. To add dimension I used a 3D tape for each element.

I decorated my card with handmade flowers using an adorable set of dies Spellbinders S4-995 Cinch and Go V Etched Dies Vintage Treasures by Becca Feeken.

Here is what the plates actually look like:

My second card is made using Spellbinders S5-393 Tiffany lavaliere Etched Dies Vinatge Treasures by Becca Feeken.

Here we have so many combinations of background and layers.
I used light green and creme colours with extra gold. I decorated this card with handmade flowers using the smallest dies of Spellbinder S4-995 Cinch and Go V Etched Dies Vinatge Treasures by Becca Feeken. Tinny flowers are so cute. I added some pearls too and word "Thank You".

Shadowbox Frame - With Sympathy

Hello there,

Today I'm going to show you how wonderful The Shadowbox Collection is.
Instead of making an ordinary card I have prepared a 3D frame.
To create it I've used Shadowbox Frame with 3/4" border.

At first sight, the die seems a little complicated but it is really easy to use.
HERE you can see step by step how easy it is.

Filigree Shadowbox Easel and Pocket Etched Dies were used and put on the left and right side of the frame.
I've used them as well to create an easel.

I decorated my card with handmade flowers from Cinch and Go IV.
I added a sentiment using Elegant Occasion Sentiments Glorious Glimmer Hot Foil
and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Gold.

Thank you
Kate

Introducing The Gilded Age Collection Blog Hop

Greetings glimmeristas!    Today, we are launching The Gilded Age - a small glimmer collection with some exquisite plates.  Join us as we introduce five new Glimmer Sets (some with dies) and 1 brand new Die Set that has matching glimmer plates. We've eased into the beautiful habit of building card layers and layering frames with foil and the Spellbinders Glimmer Foil System.  These metal plates are just like stamps and can be used for letterpress and deep embossing as well as transferring gorgeous foils to many items.
Welcome to The Gilded Age Collection - Becca shares her inspiration below:

Inspiration for The Gilded Age

I have a romantic fascination with days gone by and the beautiful, fragile relics that survive to create our memories. The Gilded Age is a look back to a time when beautiful things were all around and each item had a story tied to it.  Fineries were hard earned and treasured, garnered with much pride and bathed with love and sentimental value.  Whether in art or clothes or architecture, the timeless glamour of the era thankfully punctuates our lives today.

It was an age where dreamers knew no bounds in decorating and inventing, paving the way for exquisite art, extravagant embellishment and a level of grandeur that defies simplicity.   We're fortunate that traces of the era live on.  One of our present day methods of gilding comes in the way of foiling. Once only able to be carried out at prints shops, it was an expensive process that signaled exceptional taste; your eyes can't help but be drawn to it.

In the collection, I've curated a couple of looks inspired by a ladies stationary desk.  A desk where she might sit a compose "Thank You" notes with care and attention to detail using her coveted fineries of the day.  Each plate in the collection delivers a mark that can be considered hallmarks of fine penmanship and papers.  I'm convinced that each of us has a mark, an indelible mark - the tools are there, calling out for us to use them.

My Project For Today:

I'm tickled to introduce GLP-119 Gilded Leaves Shaped Panel by Becca Fekken

Here is what the plates actually look like:

My card today is made with GLP-119 Gilded Leaves Shaped Panel by Becca Fekken .
In the centre of the card, I put a beautiful sentiment With Sympathy from Elegant Occasion Sentiments, Glorious Glimmer Classic Plates Collection by Becca Feeken.
For both, leaves and sentiment, I used a beautiful Teal Glimmer Hot Foil GLF-009. This colour is absolutely amazing.
Two opposite corners of background are die cut with dies added to Gilded Leaves plates. In this way leaves cohere with background ideally.

My second card is made with the same GLP-119 Gilded Leaves and additional I used GLP-128 Lace Flippery Glimmer.  This time I used a gold paper and Gold Glimmer Hot Foil GLF-001.
The white paper I covered with creme organza and decorated a card with a bow.
